Highly positive feedback for Avebury House Care Centre in Devizes, Wiltshire

Managed by family-run providers Coate Water Care since July 2020, Avebury House Care Centre offers exceptional residential, day care and respite care, including 24-hour care for people living with dementia. Our qualified nurses and experienced carers also provide specialist care for residents with palliative care needs.

Avebury House sits in a small residential area on the banks of the Kennet and Avon Canal and enjoys views over adjacent farmland. The home has wrap around grounds which boast private and secure gardens overlooking the canal.

This lovely environment combined with the professional and empathetic nature of the experienced carers means Avebury House has received an average rating of 9.7 out of ten on the independent care sector reviews website carehome.co.uk.

Here is just a small sample of the reviews.

“Moving into residential care is a large transition both for a service user and their family. Without exception, every single person has been kind, helpful, and professional in supporting us with mum's removal. It's the things that money cannot buy, like attitude, genuine care, and compassion that mean we are so happy that mum is with you, safe and sound.”

“Extremely impressed with everything to do with Avebury House. The care and kindness shown to my sister are remarkable. Everyone is so kind and helpful, nothing is too much trouble and always with a smile. The food is yummy. The lounge and dining room is like home from home, and we love the decor.”

“Extremely understanding staff. Excellent, clean home. Covid compliant to the utmost degree.”

“We, as a family, knew mother wasn't going to get any better and that her life journey would end at Avebury House. We couldn't have wished for a better place to end her long life. The kindness and dignity she was shown was wonderful. Everything was done to make her last few days as comfortable as possible. My brother, sister-in-law and I were included in all decision making and felt the warmth and care of a truly dedicated manager and all staff. Thank you so much.”

“Wonderful, caring staff in a beautiful and safe environment. Thank you.”

“Very good care home. Dad is well looked after. All his care needs are met. The staff are very friendly and professional. I would definitely recommend it to anyone looking to place a loved one into permanent care.”

“The home is beautifully set internally and externally with polite, helpful happy staff. They were attentive to the needs of myself and my friend whilst I visited, extremely professional yet warm in their approach. The manager, who was polite, friendly and professional, offered a tour of the facilities. All areas match the main areas on view. A beautiful setting with exceptional staffing from the manager down.”

Avebury House currently has two double rooms and forty-one single rooms, all en-suite, with a choice of bath or shower. The home has a large lounge with doors opening onto the extensive gardens. There is a separate dining room and our very experienced chef consults with residents about menu choices and prepares fresh food on site with a seasonal menu. A range of drinks and snacks are available all day.

“Everybody at Avebury House is proud of our ratings from family and friends of our residents and also our ‘Good' CQC rating. We would be delighted to show you around our lovely care home in Devizes.” Amanda Timms, Avebury House Manager.
